From the medieval market to performances depicting historical recreations.
Cultural, Celebrations, Leisure

In 1229, King Jaume I d’Aragó began a new adventure from Salou’s military port, which would take him to conquer Majorca. The feat is connected to the history of Salou and, every year, the town commemorates this fact in the shape of a medieval celebration on the first weekend of September.

From the market to the re-enactment activities, the King Jaume I festival becomes a tribute to what our ancestors achieved in the Middle Ages, which will end on the traditional entourage with over 300 Salou citizens dressed up to recreate that very event. Soldiers, monks, villagers, nobles, knights and the King Jaume I and his wife Violant of Hungary will lead the entourage that will take them round various streets of Salou, up to Llevant beach, where a battle recreation and horse show will take place.
