An event was also done jointly with Turespaña to present the destination to some 40 tourism agents and tour operators Salou is the only destination in Catalonia promoting itself to the Irish market

The Salou City Council Tourism Board is participating in a joint promotion with PortAventura for the Irish market. Once again this year, making it three in a row, the municipality attended the Belfast Telegraph Holiday World Show for the general public, which is considered the most important in Northern Ireland. The show started today and will finish on Sunday and Salou is the only destination in Catalonia that is attending the event, which is held next to the Titanic Museum in Belfast.

Within the framework of the show, it took advantage of its stay there to organise a meeting with some 40 tour operators and travel agents from Northern Ireland and Belfast, exchanging direct information with them on the excellent features of the capital of the Costa Daurada. Over 40 people recognised in the Northern Island tourist sector attended the dinner, including winners Laffin Travel. Councillor Ramon Pascual was in charge of welcoming the tourism agents and tour operators to this meeting. Tourism Board members have deemed this initial contact as extremely positive, as a good part of the Irish market has been to the capital of the Costa Daurada. Indeed, it bears remembering that Salou is the top holiday destination of the Irish, where the large majority have returned more than once to our destination, as they love the beach, the great weather and the tourism offering available in the municipality. PortAventura also sparked great interest.

This summer, there will be direct Easy Jet flights to Barcelona, and Jet2.com, Thomas Cook and Thomson Falcon flights to Reus.
