The Salou Tourist Board prepares the arrival of the summer by reinforcing its communication strategy in the Spanish market. The capital of the Costa Daurada will broadcast to our Spanish media its main tourist attractions, amongst the ones it could be highlighted the range of family and sports tourism, 14 km of coastline and leisure centers such as Port Aventura.
Located in the Costa Daurada, 100 kilometers south of Barcelona, Salou was already built in the nineteenth century as a tourist destination of reference in Europe thanks to attractions such as beaches and bays of golden sand calm waters and mild climate. The town and its beaches are also notable for having the ISO 14001 Environmental Certificate, which attests the quality and protection of the existing environment on the coast. Also, in two of its beaches, Ponent and Llevant, the quality Q flag waves awarded by the Spanish Tourist Quality institute.
The 9 beaches and bays that make up Salou’s coastline have very different characteristics ranging from the extensive and wide beaches of fine sand and gentle slope, ideal for families, to bays surrounded by pines and seasonal greenery to enjoy a peaceful and natural area of crystal clear waters.
Last year, Salou celebrated the tenth anniversary of their certification as first Family Holiday Destination (DTF) of Catalonia and the Spanish state, a recognition received on September 30, 2003. Today, more than 25% of the supply of accommodation in the capital of the Costa Daurada meets the requirements to accommodate families.
