Some 100 kilometres from Salou is Barcelona, the political, business and tourist capital of  Catalonia. With history dating back over 2000 years, Barcelona proudly exhibits its rich historic, architectural and cultural heritage. The city is also home to eight universities and is one of the largest tourist destinations in Europe.

During your outing to Barcelona, we recommend you stroll through the winding narrow streets of the Gothic District, where you can discover the lights and works of the medieval city, replete with buildings with a rich medieval legacy. We also suggest the Modernista route, on which obligatory stops include the Casa Milà, the Casa Batlló and the Sagrada Família temple, still in construction decades after the works commenced.

Since the Olympic Games were hosted in Barcelona in 1992, this city that opens onto the Mediterranean has had modern and contemporary neighbourhoods, such as 22@, as well as an amazing selection of hotels and restaurants.
