For the first time in 121 years, from part of the Catalan territory it will be possible to see how the Moon completely covers the Sun and darkens the sky, turning day into night for a brief period of time.
The uniqueness of the day is heightened by the fact that the eclipse will coincide with the celebration of the Nits Daurades.
Eclipse tips
Due to the expected high turnout, it is recommended to:
-
Arrive early at observation points.
-
Prioritize public transport or car sharing.
-
Follow the instructions of local authorities.
Safe viewing and recommendations
Authorities and scientific institutions insist that you should never look directly at the Sun without certified protection, not even during an eclipse.
It is essential to use certified solar viewing glasses that comply with ISO 12312-2 standards. Regular sunglasses do not provide sufficient protection and can cause serious eye damage.
If proper equipment is not available, it is recommended to use indirect viewing methods or go to officially designated viewing areas.
Respect for the environment
Many of the planned observation points are located in natural spaces, coastal areas, and protected zones. For this reason, please:
-
Do not leave waste behind.
-
Respect wildlife and vegetation.
-
Avoid accessing unauthorized areas.
-
Maintain responsible behavior.
