Plaça del Carrilet
The station was built to transport the goods that arrived on the conventional line to Reus. This is why it is situated next to the railway station, which currently houses one of the first steam locomotives that travelled over this8.2 kilometres of track.
It was inaugurated on 23 June 1857 and had its heyday and peak of splendour when the line that connected the two cities was running, between 1887 and 1975. With the decline in the port’s trading and the subsequent drop in the transport of goods, at the end of the 19th century, the station would start to carry the first bathers to the beaches of Salou.
